On msn now with Nirwan, who's explaining to me "The clone wars" some cartoon tie up to ep3...i finally geddit! Now i know why that general grievous guy kept wheezing in the movie. Watched it last Sat. Read Nirwan's blog for a summary of the show.
An excerpt:
"Dialogue seems to have improved generally. Gotta love the cryptic warnings of that green little Yoda, hehe. Jar Jar Binks has *finally* been moved into total obscurity and the Chancellor is simply awesome; hearing him work his insidious ways is simply chilling. There are still a couple of pretty idiotic lines, one of which appear in the conversation between Padme and Anakin. Once you hear it, you'll be like "groooooooooaaaannnn".
Still, it's a pretty damn good movie and Lucas managed to redeem himself for the bleh efforts of 1 and 2. Star Wars is ultimately about the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker and Hayden Christiansen definitely managed to show the inner turmoil that exists within his character. The last scene is pretty touching and shows us the spark of humanity that Luke will eventually appeal to in order for Anakin to redeem himself."
I think he did a great review (honestly, dude, you write well, go be a journalist!!! or better still, a flick reviewer!)...and i think Palpitine (affectinately known as Palpy) is one heckuva genius villain. Ok, really, do read his blog...there's some link thingy that you can choose not to open in the event you havent watched the show...spoilers so to speak. I mean NIrwan really did a prac crit (Practical Criticism to the non lit students) of ep3! Applause, please!
Star wars fever aside (i was informed yesterday that somewhere in town, there were M&Ms dressed as characters yest...if only i were there. Id give the M&Ms big hugs! ), [darn, i lost my train of thought. Bah. Shall blog next time.]
